Masterpieces - Questions and Answers

    1. What is the best picture to use?

Look for a photo where the subject takes up about 30% of the picture and is in clear focus.
Lots of color has great results. Never fold your photograph…..Never write on front or back of
photo. (If you feel you must identify it, put a small removable address label on the back only.)

    2. Can a black and white photo be used?

Yes, a black and white or color, new or old photo can make a beautiful Masterpiece.

    3. Can I send my photograph or do I have to send a negative?

Masterpieces can be made from any good quality photograph and a negative can be used,
but you should never send your only original so we suggest getting a good quality print made and
send that. If you're uncertain of the quality of the photo, we do recommend that you send us two
or three photos and let us choose the best one.

    4. How long does it take to receive my Masterpiece?

Once we receive your order, your portrait will be sent to you along with your original photograph in
      just 4 to 6 weeks.

    5. How do I preserve my Masterpiece? Will it fade or discolor?

After all, we are talking about a canvas painting. It should be treated like any fine piece of art.
You should never put it where it could get wet. Never use solvents on the painting. If you are
transporting your portrait, place it in a plastic bag to avoid unnecessary exposure to the elements.
Your Masterpiece has built-in ultra violet (non-fading) protection but as with any work of art,
do not place in direct sunlight or in a high humidity area. We also recommend using gloves
whenever possible, if you must touch it or hold it.

    6. Will my Masterpiece look different from my original photo?

Your Masterpiece is such a finely detailed replica of your photograph, this process may
reveal flaws that are in the original photo, and may also show hidden treasures. Please inspect
your photos carefully when choosing a candidate. We will do some minor touch-ups before create
your canvas. But if the picture has serious flaws, tears or discoloration we may not be able to
create a good painting. That's why we ask that you send us a few alternatives. We want to give
      you the best result possible.

       7. Can my portrait be framed?

Your Masterpiece can be framed but it also comes to you professionally gallery stretch
mounted and ready to hang. That means, when we've mounted the final painting onto the wooden
stretchers, you'll be able to see part of the picture on all sides, top and bottom. You won't be
getting a canvas, just roughly stapled to to the wooden bars. But, if you prefer to have it framed,
we have a nice selection of frames available.

  1. How will I know my order was received?

You will receive a postcard acknowledging that your order was received and the approximate
shipping date of your finished portrait.

  2. Will my painting be replaced if there are any manufacturer defects?

We are so confident that you will be completely satisfied with your Masterpiece that we
will redo it. Masterpieces  is not responsible for "defects" in the original photo.

  3.     Will my original photo be returned to me?

Yes. Our process will not harm your photo and it will be returned with your new portrait.
