What happens if my "Lightning
Strike" falls in the water?
Just pull it out and shake the water off. Remove the battery and dry it off as well as the
battery contacts. We have tested it under water for extended periods and have even had the
buzzer working under water. With the exception of a little surface rust on the battery
when it dried, we have found no damage to the unit from water.
What about the wind pulling the line out of the contacts?
We have used the "Lightning Strike" in 40-50 MPH winds and have never had the
wind blow the line out.
What if I want to use live bait?
Just adjust the tension on the contacts so that the bait doesnt pull the line out
and give you a false alarm.
Will the "Lightning Strike" work with any size line?
Yes, we have used it with 2 lb. To 20lb. With the same degree of success.
Can the "Lightning Strike" hold a full size pole?
Yes it will work with anything from the short ice fishing poles to the 8-9 foot casting
rods.
Can the "Lightning Strike" take
cold weather?
Yes, The buzzer is good to 40 degrees F. and the batteries are put in cold storage
to maintain shelf life.
I just put a new battery in my "Lightning Strike" and now it
doesnt work.
Turn the battery so that the positive or + side faces out. Check the see that the battery
contact was not bent away from the battery while removing or replacing the battery. If
needed remove the battery and press the outer battery contact in so that it has pressure
on the battery.
