Interior Accommodations: The
interior woodwork is American Cherry. She sleeps seven. The sole is laid teak, and the
bilges of the pilot house, salon and galley are totally accessible. There is an ESPAR
forced air 28,000 BTU diesel heater. There are ten Lewmar hatches, one Bomar hatch,
six Dorades, two exhaust fans and six interior fans. Safety: Safety
Equipment includes half inch lexan storm covers for the pilot house windows, watertight
bulkheads fore and aft, man overboard unit with strobe, life sling, anti corrosion meter,
ACR 406 EPIRB as well as coastal unit, gas and bilge water alarms, five fire extinguishers
including an automatic one in the engine room, smoke detectors and a stern platform with
ladder extending below the water. All welds were x-rayed during construction by an
independent firm to assure a very strong hull.
Underway: Having just completed a seven year circumnavigation, she has
shown herself to be an excellent sailor and has had 200 mile days. She has eleven
Barient two speed, self tailing winches, which includes one electric winch for handling
the main halliard and reefing lines as well as the jib furlers. The Brooks and
Gatehouse Sailing Monitor and depth sounder, with cockpit repeaters and wind display was
continuously accurate. The IC M100 VHF and Icom 735 Hand and Hi-seas transceiver
with automatic tuner functioned remarkably well. The Alpha Marine Autopilot and
Monitor wind vane proved invaluable. "Trinity took bad weather in stride, never
slamming in the roughest seas. She proved very dry and secure.
